BACKGROUND INFORMATION
TRPA approved the Guidelines which require all basin jurisdictions to comply or risk having their housing allocations reduced. Since Washoe County doesn’t need additional housing allocations, it’s unclear as to how TRPA will enforce the guidelines in Washoe County.  Click here to view the TRPA Neighborhood Compatibility Guidelines.
Agenda Item 29 – Appeal of the Tax Revolt Decision
The Commissioners approved the staff’s recommended approach to retain outside legal counsel and pursue an appeal of the Court’s decision. The Commissioners were concerned about the County’s ability to fullfill the court ordered repayment within one year.
The Washoe County taxpayers are paying roughly $5,000 per day in interest.
