Short Term Rentals (STRs)

Our County Commissioner has brought to our attention that vacation rental websites and other bay area media have been promoting “heading to the mountains to be safe”.  Since the short term rentals have been shut down in California, our area is exposed.  The County can’t override the Governor’s ruling that vacation rentals are “essential businesses” without a written statement from the Governor.  Please call or write the Governor’s office requesting he put in writing the ability for Washoe County to ban vacation rentals during this crisis in an effort to keep our community safe and not overrun our limited resources.  Listed below are the ways to contact the Governor’s office.
