The District had only one submitted bid for the project, although 3 bidders had expressed interest in the project. Trustee Dent inquired as to the reasons and staff stated it had to do with the difficulty of the project due to access to the locker rooms. The bid was higher than the engineer’s estimate resulting in the need for the board to augment the budget. The total estimated costs of the project, including staff time and a 10% contingency, is $975,843. The board approved in a 4-1 vote with Trustee Dent opposing.
