On June 22, both Matthew Dent and Sara Schmitz recall notices were cancelled due one of the petitioners withdrawing their signature. Only hours later, a new Intent to Recall Notice was sent to both Dent and Schmitz with Tim Callicrate, Mary Kleingartner, and Darolyn Skelton having signed the new Intent to Recall form.
After 45 days, all signatures collected to date are required to be submitted to the Washoe County Registrar of Voters. At 48 days, the signatures collected must be made available to the public for examination. The signature process continues for a total of 90 days, and again all signatures must be verified and made available to the public for examination. If sufficient signatures are gathered, a Special Election will be held and include both Matthew Dent and Sara Schmitz along with any others who’ve gathered sufficient signatures to be included on the ballot.
The cost of this effort is to be paid by the Committee to Recall Matthew Dent and the Committee to Recall Sara Schmitz. The committee is required to submit public financial disclosures on the Nevada Secretary of State website.
