At the Board of Trustees meeting on July 26th, representatives of the General Manager Dog Park Committee presented their recommendations. The committee recommended using the upper portion of Village Green and a section of woodlands to the north for two fenced parks; one for large dogs, one for small dogs. The committee recommended a 10 foot wall be constructed on the southern boarder of the upper Village Green for potential outdoor movie viewing. Additional parking and a restroom were suggested to be constructed along Incline Way. Click here to view the presentation made to the board.
The board had a number of questions and expressed concern over the dog owners “buy-in” for the proposed location and design. In addition, the Director of Park and Recreation suggested that Ski Beach be closed for dog use in the off-season.
The board requested the committee survey the dog owners and community members for assurance of “buy-in” before spending money.
