On Wednesday evening, October 11th, the effluent export line was back in full operation following the successful connection of another 2,100 lineal feet of pipe thus completing the final effort of the season. This brings the season total of pipeline replaced to approximately 5,400 lineal feet. This represents about 250+ original pipe joints having been replaced, resulting in IVGID’s successful elimination of significant risk.
The treatment plant and pipeline crews from IVGID put in the long days and early hours to facilitate the shutdown and draining of the existing line to support Granite Construction’s effort.
Some incidental work is anticipated occur this coming week, with the final work being completed by October 24th.
District is expected to continue the replacement efforts for the next 2-3 summer seasons.
The effluent pipeline spans from Incline Village to Clear Creek in Carson Valley.
