The Bike Pump Track is part of the Diamond Peak Master Plan. To view the Diamond Peak Master Plan information click here to view page 45 for the description and page 55 for the financials. Since the Diamond Peak Master Plan has yet to be approved, generous donations of community members made it possible to build the Bike Pump Track next to the Rec Center and tennis courts. This location, being adjacent to the Stream Environmental Zone (SEZ), created challenges.
On the approved plans there is extensive landscaping and a fence to protect the sensitive stream zone.
The landscaping has not been installed, yet the park was allowed to open. A fence has been installed, however, not in the proper location according to the plans.
Temporary BMPs haven’t been put in place.
IVGID Director of Parks and Recreation Indra Winquest covered the dirt mounds to protect the stream during heavy rain.
The Incline Tahoe Foundation (ITF) is seeking donors for the ongoing maintenance costs.
The next phase of the Bike Park is in the planning phase and ITF is seeking donors.
