TRPA Advisory Planning Commission Meeting
September 14, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am
Wednesday, September 14, at 9:30 am – Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV and via Zoom. The agenda item related to the discussion of a safety pier at Burnt Cedar Beach is to be removed.
IT HAS BEEN STATED THIS AGENDA ITEM WILL BE PULLED.
Agenda item V. entitled “Planning Matters” includes a report on the Lake Tahoe Shoreline Public Safety Facilities. The working group identified the four preferred locations:
- Ski Run Marina (City of South Lake Tahoe)
- Camp Richardson Pier (El Dorado County)
- Burnt Cedar Beach (Washoe County)
- Zephyr Cove Pier (Douglas County)
The report (click https://www.trpa.gov/wp-content/uploads/September-14-2022-APC-Packet.pdf to view) states “Burnt Cedar Beach is a quasi-public park owned and operated by the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID). There is no existing pier at the site and IVGID has not confirmed interest in working with partners to develop a safety facility at Burnt Cedar Beach. Partner agencies should engage with IVGID to further explore the site’s feasibility. A safety facility at Burnt Cedar Beach would primarily serve the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Nevada Department of Wildlife, and Nevada State Parks.
IV/CB Community 1st understands the pier at the Hyatt was approved by TRPA to serve these identified agencies. We will reach out to the Advisory Planning Commission to better understand the recommendation and the status of the Hyatt pier.
