Washoe County is in discussion with IVGID regarding the potential allocation of some of Washoe County’s funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds to assist IVGID with funding for the effluent pipeline. Additionally, the County is investigating using some funds to improve broadband cellular for Incline Village/Crystal Bay.
Several community members have expressed concerns regarding what appears to be a discontinuation of the Incline Village Crystal Bay Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) meetings. County Manager, Eric Brown has advised the CABs are in the process of being redeveloped to add additional opportunities for dialog and input between our local community and Washoe County.
Washoe County is striving to improve outreach by hiring two new County employees in Community Services to work with the local communities. Incline Village/Crystal Bay concerns are anticipated to be a focus for the new employees.
The County Manager and Commissioner Hill have agreed to be physically present in Incline Village/Crystal Bay on a monthly basis to meet with local residents and sort through local issues and concerns with community members.
