In an effort to clarify the relationship between the Hyatt Resort/Hyatt Timeshares and IVGID, Incline Village Crystal Bay Community 1st has conducted extensive research which has been verified by IVGID General Manager Winquest.
The Hyatt Hotel pays 2 IVGID Recreation and Beach Facilities fees. The beach deed allows for “occupants of motels and hotels” to have access to the beaches. Each of the Hyatt Timeshares, 60 properties located off of Incline Way, pay a Recreation and Beach Facility fee like other dwelling units in Incline Village. Again, each timeshare property (60) pays $830 like other parcels in Incline Village with beach access. Crystal Bay property owners and owners of property with private beach access in Incline Village do not pay nor have beach access.
1. Are Hyatt Resort (hotel) guests provided access to our beaches?
This year, due the COVID restrictions, no Hyatt Resort guests are allowed access. Prior to this year, Hyatt Resort guests could obtain a Guest Access Ticket from the Hyatt concierge which they would present to the gate attendant and pay for beach access. The Beach Deed includes access by “occupants of motels and hotels”.
2. Are Hyatt timeshare owners/guests allowed to access our beaches?
Since each property pays a Recreation and Beach Facility fee, they are provided Recreation Punch Cards that allow beach access. In the past, prior to the COVID restrictions, they were allowed to “exchange” the value of their Recreation Punch Card for a beach day-use ticket called an Exchange Pass*. These Exchange Passes* provided beach access only. This year, due to the COVID restrictions, they are required to use the physical Recreation Punch Card to obtain and pay for access.
However, according to staff, prior to June 24th about 3500 Exchange Passes* were issued. A representative of the Hyatt timeshares spoke at the Board meeting stating they requested and received about 500 Exchange Passes* this season. All Exchange Passes issued prior to June 24th, will be honored.
3. Are Hyatt Resort guests allowed to use the IVGID Tennis Center and the Recreation Center?
In the past, Hyatt guests were allowed access to the Recreation Center, as were other members of the public, by paying the non-resident rate. Due to the current COVID restrictions, only Recreation Center members with a minimum of a 3-month membership are allowed access to the Recreation Center facilities.
As it relates to the Tennis Center, Hyatt Resort guests may use the facilities, as can other members of the public, by paying the non-resident rate. Due to the COVID restrictions, credit cards and checks are the only accepted form of payment.
4. Are Hyatt timeshare owners/guests allowed to use the IVGID Tennis Center and the Recreation Center?
In the past, Hyatt timeshare owner/guests were allowed to “buy down” the day use rate to the resident rate with a valid Recreation Punch Card. Due to the current COVID restrictions, only Recreation Center members with a minimum of a 3-month membership, are allowed access to the Recreation Center facilities.
As it relates to the Tennis Center, Hyatt timeshare owners/guests may “buy down” the rate to the resident rate, with a valid Recreation Punch Card. Due to the COVID restrictions, credit cards and checks are the only accepted form of payment.
5. Do Hyatt Resort guests receive discounts at the Championship and Mountain Golf Courses?
Yes, you may view the attached rate sheet. The discounts vary by course, dates and times and are significantly less than the discount for Recreation Picture Pass holders. When making reservations, they are treated like the general public. Due to the impacts of the COVID restrictions, the general public reservation policy was temporarily changed from 48 hours in advance to 7 days in advance and for Recreation Picture Pass card holders the change went from one week in advance to being unrestricted. Typically, Hyatt Resort guests make reservations upon their arrival. Attached you will find the rate sheet, including the discounts provided to Hyatt Resort guest.

7. Are Hyatt Resort guests offered special discounts or privileges at Diamond Peak?
Hyatt Resort guests have the convenience and ability to purchase their lift tickets at the Hyatt Sports Shop. The Sports Shop is open to the general public for ticket purchases and allows the purchaser to avoid having to wait in line at the Diamond Peak ticket window. This is a great convenience and helps to reduce the lines at Diamond Peak. The other convenience is access to the shuttle service provided by Diamond Peak. It runs every 30 minutes to the Hyatt beginning at 8:30am to 1:00pm. Diamond Peak also provides a free shuttle service to the community with 13 different stops located within Incline Village.

*Exchange Passes are not covered by Ordinance 7. There is no Board policy for Exchange Passes nor has the Board ever approved the administrative process of creating or issuing these passes. There is also nothing in Ordinance 7 or Board approved policy related to the issuance of “white papers” or guest access passes.
