NEWSFLASH —
Mr. Pinkerton, IVGID General Manager, has tendered his resignation. According to the Tracy Press, he will be the new General Manager of the Mountain House Community Services District located between Livermore and Tracy, California. We thank him for his service and wish him well with his new opportunity.
Click here for the complete IVGID Board of Trustees agenda. The meeting will be held on June 19th at 6 pm at the Chateau. There are many important topics including Ordinance 7, an amendment to our solid waste and recyclables collection, the Community Services Master Plan, the new tennis center, a legislative update, AND more of our money spent on litigation.
The agenda item catching our attention is the request for an additional $25,000 for more legal fees to contest the Smith lawsuit for public records and appeal the Court’s decision favoring Mr. Smith. This amount is over and above Mr. Pinkerton’s expenditure of close to $50,000 using his discretionary authority to engage an independent law firm to defend IVGID, Chair Wong and Counsel Guinasso. Given the Judge’s ruling in Mr. Smith’s favor, Mr. Smith has the ability to seek repayment from the District for his legal fees, totaling roughly $23,000. If this occurs, the District will have spent nearly $73,000 thus far. It is important to note that the Board never approved the engagement of the independent attorney nor appropriated public funds in a public meeting for this litigation to defend IVGID as well as Chair Wong and Counsel Guinasso.
Please consider attending to share your opinion during public comments which are at the beginning of the meeting.
