Rebates for Defensible Space Mitigation

North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) has rebates available for defensible space work that’s done by one of the certified contractors on the NLTFPD list. The list is available on the NLTFPD website. To be eligible, the NLTFPD would conduct an inspection to identify what needs to be done on your property. If a certified contractor on the NLTFPD list is used, you may apply for the grant for reimbursement of up to 50% of the cost of the work, up to maximum of a $1000 reimbursement.
