Pipeline Design Contract Moves Forward & Update on Potential Funding

April 13, 2022

The Trustees voted unanimously to approve Amendment 2 for additional Professional Services associated with the Effluent Export Pipeline project, in an amount of $322, 588 plus a 10% contingency, from the Utilities Fund.

Earlier in the meeting, the District’s Federal Legislative Advocate, Marcus Faust, gave a report to inform the board and the public about the status of attempts to access federal funds for the District from various sources.  Mr. Faust reported, among other things, about his efforts to access funds under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law; his efforts to have FEMA view water infrastructure as eligible for FEMA funds; his work with the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act to get funds; and the status of his actions to obtain 595 Funds.  Mr. Faust stated that he believes that he has secured an immediately available $2 million in 595 funds and is seeking an additional $4 million plus in 595 funds.
