At their meeting on June 29th, the IVGID Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 30% design of the Recreation Center Expansion project being funded by the David and Cheryl Duffield Foundation. The expansion includes a new basketball court, gymnastics room, youth areas and movement of Recreation Center administration offices and entrances. The schematic designs may be found on the District website for the agenda item (click here – see pages 117-126).
The board also approved moving forward with further design of the proposed tenant improvements. The proposed tenant improvements, with the costs to be covered by the District, include an elevated walking “path” above the current basketball courts, expanded fitness room space, movement of the massage room to what is now the coffee station area, and the current massage room being converted to a family changing room, along with lighting upgrades.
The board is expected to review the 60% design in October.
