- Assemblywoman Krasner’s bill, AB 143 which establishes provisions concerning victims of human trafficking, passed unanimously and has moved to the Nevada State Senate.
- Assemblywomen Nguyen’s bill, AB 363 revises provisions governing transient lodging (Short Term Rentals) may be accessed by clicking here. It includes many restrictions that community members requested Washoe County include in their STR ordinance. The bill restricts the density of STR’s, requires owners to have proof of insurance, limits the size of home allowed to be operated as an STR to no more than 4 bedrooms, and requires a public hearing for every STR application. To view a list of the changes contained in the bill click here. Proposed amendments remove these and other limitations contained in the bill. To view the proposed amendments, click here.
- PLEASE COMMENT BEFORE APRIL 29th when a hearing is expected before the Assembly Committee on Revenue. Our opinion is to support Assemblywoman Nguyen and request the bill remain unchanged. Washoe County has expressed a lack of support for this bill. To view the comments submitted by Washoe County, click here.
