Former General Manager Pinkerton authorized the use of nearly $50,000 to defend IVGID in a lawsuit brought forth by a local citizen requesting public records. Along with IVGID, Chair Wong and Counsel Guinasso were both named as defendants. Mr. Pinkerton and Chair Wong did not bring the engagement of an independent attorney before the Board for their approval and the appropriation of public funds. Trustees Horan, Morris, and Chair Wong did however approve spending an additional $10,000 to challenge the initial court ruling. Now with this latest court ruling, the District may be liable for Mr. Smith’s attorney fees. Click here to read the most recent article.
