Many of you are anxious and feeling as though boating is social distancing. TRPA’s goal is to reduce the influx of tourists that could negatively impact our infection rate. Incline Village has been reported to have the highest infection rate in the Tahoe Basin.
Many of you have been requesting the boat launches open for boats tagged as Tahoe Only. It is important to note that many boats with the Tahoe Only stickers are non-local residents being instructed to ‘stay home’ by their Governors.
Watercraft inspections for the prevention of aquatic invasive species will not be available until further notice. TRPA is coordinating with state, county officials and the launch ramp facilities to develop a plan to allow some launching, until then boat ramps remain closed until further notice to comply with NV and CA Executive Orders. This is necessary to comply with NV and CA Executive Orders on COVID-19 and to keep our dedicated inspectors safe during these difficult times.
Thank you for helping protect Lake Tahoe and the residents of the basin.
