The TRPA board adopted the Tahoe Keys Control Methods Test opening the door to the use of herbicides in Lake Tahoe. It was a long discussion with both the Lake Tahoe Water Suppliers Association and the Kingsbury General Improvement District favoring alternative #1 which did not include the use of herbicides. Many individuals provided public comment opposing the use of herbicides. Most public comment that favored herbicide use were from residents of the Tahoe Keys and two prominent scientists, including Dr. Charles Goldman (UCD) and Sudeep Chandra (UNR).
