The meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to identify areas with inadequate broadband or cellular coverage to Washoe County Chief Information Officer Behzad Zamarian. Mr. Zamarian will be advising the community on actions that can taken, based on the recent Nevada legislation, to obtain improvements in our broadband and cellular coverage as well as to discuss what the County can do to improve coverage.  Access to good broadband and cellular coverage is a critical component of public safety in the event of an emergency evacuation from Incline Village and Crystal Bay. Â
Emergency evacuation is a important issue in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, and the ability to access the various broadband and cellular information systems (i.e. Perimeter, etc.) will be important to our community and visitors in the event of emergency evacuation. Therefore, if you are unable to attend and know of areas with inadequate broadband or cellular coverage, please send in written public comment to CAB@washoecounty.gov describing the areas noting if the issues is broadband, cellular or both.
Additionally, there will be a review of a draft letter to potentially be sent from the IVCB CAB to the County Emergency Management on emergency evacuation, and a brief update on the recent presentations from the IVCB CAB to the County Commissioners.
The Incline Village Crystal Bay Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, in person at the Incline Village Library located at 845 Alder Avenue, Incline Village, and via zoom. The agenda may be accessed here.
