Over the past year, we’ve been reading and sharing articles about “over tourism” in the Tahoe Basin. Last year it was the Foder’s Places NOT to Travel article (click here) and this year we’re seeing a few more.
Additionally, for those of you who participated in the TRPA Housing FlashVote survey, you can see in the results that most people were concerned about the re-zoning of town centers with taller buildings and more density being allowed. People are concerned they will be used for Short Term Rentals, not the housing needed for our community employees, with the additional risk of pushing out businesses.
